Megan received her bachelor of science degree in Kinesiology from Sonoma State University in 2010 and continued on with obtaining her master of science degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of St. Augustine in 2012.
Megan began her professional career in Austin, Texas where she worked in pediatrics as well as adult rehab for 2 years. She has also gained experience working with children in the school system, and is knowledgeable in the IEP (Individualized Education Plan) process for children to receive services through the district. Megan enjoys helping children of all abilities reach success across daily environments, including school and home visits in which she educates families and teachers on sensory smart environments that foster growth and collaboration.
Megan enjoys furthering her skillset through continuing education courses and has certifications in: Craniosacral Therapy, iLs (Integrated Listening System), Puzzle Art Therapy, SOS Approach to Feeding and Therapeutic Listening. She finds great joy in attending Camp Avanti in Wisconsin each summer, where OT’s from across the world gather to provide a therapeutic camp experience for children.
Megan's professional passion revolves around meeting an individual and their family where they are at, and using approaches that are grounded in sensory integration, social emotional development, and play based intervention strategies to assist them to then reach their goals and gain independence towards living a more joyful and playful life.
In her free time, Megan enjoys traveling, going to concerts, and baking.
